But, there is even a better Blackjack game to consider and thats Single-Deck Blackjack, which is now played almost everywhere. With a proper basic strategy you can usually play even with the house and by incorporating other techniques you can also gain a slight edge. Any edge, no matter how small is a good edge.
Unlike multiple-deck games in single-Deck Blackjack the players are allowed to touch the cards, when a player wants to hit he lightly scratches the card across the felt, when a player decides he doesnt want any more cards he gently slips his initial two-card hand under his chips. This indicates to the Dealer that the player is standing pack. If the player should bust he must immediately turn over his hand, placing the cards face-up on the table, the dealer will then collect his cards and his bet. When a player wants to double-down he must place his initial two-card hand face-up for the dealer to see, then he must place an amount equal to or less than his original bet. The Dealer will then give him one card. If a player wishes to split, again he turns over his hand so the dealer can see, then he places a bet equal to his original bet on the table. The dealer will then deal to his split hand. These are the procedures for the Single-Deck game, but there are certain changes in basic strategy that are called for when playing single as opposed to multi-deck Blackjack.
