The backgammon game has enjoyed an international following for thousands of years. For instance, Tavla, the Turkish version of backgammon shares much in common with the most commonly played backgammon game, but there is no doubling cube nor cup for throwing the dice the dice are flicked against the wooden side of the Tavla board.
